Field Trips, Workshops, Gatherings, and Special Events
Village Home offers several types of extracurricular events for our families.
They're a wonderful way for families to socialize, they're educational,
and (most of all!), they're fun!
Field trips include:
- Outdoor hikes and adventures led by biologist and outdoor educator, Dr. Jeffry Gottfried
- Arts performances such as symphonies, ballets, plays, and other events put on by the Oregon Ballet Theatre,
Oregon Children's Theatre, Oregon Symphony, and others!
- Workshops in conjunction with the Multnomah County Library, Children's Museum, and others
- Special demonstrations on site, such as police officers and other community
helpers
- Social functions such as seasonal celebrations, potlucks, and picnics
Most of our field trips are held on Fridays, evenings, or weekends and do not conflict with classes. The cost is at a
very reduced rate. Information and instructional information is often made available to families ahead of time. Many
events, such
as ballet performances, include a pre-program question-and-answer period with the performers or a behind-the-scenes look at
rehearsals and stage set-up.
